It’s delightful to see the Kettle every morning, at times it sees you first with its aggressive grumbling prompted by the Bluetooth scheduling feature. I’ve had it for three months now, and no areas have oxidized to the point of rust as many have complained about. It reaches the “desired” temps pretty quickly. It was also mentioned that it’s heating temps are inaccurate, that is true as it can reach ~10 degrees more, but I consider those extra heat to offset the cooling rate when meeting room temp.
A small feature I’d like however is for the lid to be attached to a lever system instead of taking it off fully. Otherwise I look forward to it waking me up once more.

In addition to the standard black, oolong, and green settings, the mobile app allows you to set a custom brew temp. For the main tea blend I use, the recommendation was something just short of boiling – 208 degrees. The hit it perfectly (verified with a cooking thermometer). I was amazed to find how much of a positive difference it made in the flavor. I’ve tried some other blends with similar results. Now I’m excited to try some tea alchemy of my own, tinkering here and there with temps and steep times to get that perfect flavor.
I haven’t had a problem with the mobile app after initial pairing (Android/Pixel 4xl). I usually fill the kettle first, then fire up the app. Detects the base and registers the temp in a few seconds, and responds right away to commands. I don’t mess with the buttons on the base at all if I’m going to control it with the phone.

First, I can not pair the kettle with my iPad which is my preference because it is for the use of anyone including guests. It will pair with my iPhone but obviously none of my guests will have access to my personal phone.
Second, the bluetooth application VeSync which controls certain functions of the kettle will only allow me to set the temperature of the “My Brew” button. All the buttons should be programmable. I use the kettle for multiple types of teas and coffee. Each tea has a unique ideal brewing temperature which do not correspond with any of the preset temperatures on the kettle’s base unit. The product has potential that is not being fully utilized.
Third, when registering the product on the website I was promised an email confirming my additional year of warranty. I have yet to receive it after providing a lot of unnecessary required personal information.
I have verified the kettle achieves the preset temperatures stated plus-or-minus one degree. It is user friendly and the handle is comfortable. The VeSync bluetooth application is required, if you desire any temperature other then what is stated on the presets. The app will allow you to start and stop a brewing cycle from your cell phone. You will be able to see the temperature real-time as the brewing cycle progresses. The kettle beeps when the temperature is reached. It would be nice if there was an option for the cell phone to beep at the same time. Yes, the beeper can be silenced.
My experience has not been good with electric kettles in general. This is my third temperature controlled electric kettle in less than 18 months. I would highly suggest purchasing an extended warranty to cover your bases. The warranty on the second kettle was not honored by the seller which is no longer on . Fortunately, I had purchased an extended warranty through Asurion and they reimbursed me via a gift certificate equal to the purchase price when the second kettle failed after a couple of months. Hopefully, this kettle will have a longer life.

Overall I like the kettle, good quality material, and robust so far. However is bigger than expected and I was surprised it requires a minimum of 2 cups of water to work (I usually only boil enough for my cup of tea). Because of the size, it also needs to be tilted/lifted quite a bit in order to pour the water.

I’ve had a few stainless steel kettles from Costco, which worked; however, it only boils water, and if I want water for coffee or tea, I have to let it cool or mix some cold water, and estimate the temperature or measure with a thermometer. So, Costco started selling one with temperature control, but it had several problems, and was not well-designed, so I returned it and got this one.
This one is a much better design in several ways…
The good:
1. It heats the water to the desired temperature and keeps it at that temperature. The Costco one kept it warm, but not hot.
2. It has a wide opening on top, making it easier to clean, and fill.
3. The top fits a little better, so it stays hot a bit better. The Costco one has a space around the top that you can see through.
4. It has a stainless steel strainer at the spout that is attached to the top, so it lifts up with the top. The Costco one had a removable plastic strainer.
5. This one is easy to turn off if desired. The Costco had no way to turn it off completely. It stayed lit up for a long time unless you unplug it or remove the pot from the base.
6. And so far, the controls have not gotten wet and stopped working. The Costco stopped twice. I think it may get water into the handle’s controls from the inside if either too full or carried when full and getting water movement into the handle somehow. Or, maybe it’s steam. Either way, it took several days to dry out the first time, and the second time, I gave up.
The (not so) bad:
1. Not too big a deal, but when it first heats up to a set temperature, it stops and starts a few times to get the right temperature. I think it wants to make sure it doesn’t overshoot which would be impossible to undo. The Costco one seemed to be faster in this regard.
So, I’m pretty happy so far. It seems to be pretty accurate. I checked it with an accurate meat thermometer (Thermoworks ThermoPop), and an older analog candy thermometer, and it was between the two. So maybe a few degrees off.

I can control this kettle through my phone without pressing any buttons, simply plug in and let the kettle warm-up, I can even watch as the temperature rises through the app and prepare accordingly for a good cup of tea or coffee. Having an electric kettle, in my experiences, has always been more efficient than using a stove top or microwave and better tasting; so if you’re a fan of ‘pour over coffee,’ then you’re going to invest in one of these electric kettles instead of a coffee machine. I have been looking at this smart kettle for a few months and received it as a birthday gift. Originally it was suppose to replace our Keurig because we rarely used K cups in there but often used it to heat up water for tea. Not only did this kettle replace that, but I boil water for oatmeal and make it taste so much better than cooking it in the microwave, I also recently used it to boil 3 cups of water for a broth to get dinner on the table faster. Next I will try to use this to boil water for pasta.
It holds about 4 cups/32 oz when filled to the max line (which is hard to see before knowing where to look). I love how quick this is and that it can all be controlled by an app or the appliance. Any temperature can be used, the hold temperature function is great if you can’t get to it right away, and the delay start has helped me drink tea more consistently. I am so happy this with appliance and haven’t seen any problems.

This thing is amazing. You fill it with water, put it on it’s base and press the lever. Lights around the base turn blue letting you know it’s heating. The pitcher is , so you can start to see the little bubbles start forming surprisingly fast. And before you know it, you’ve got a rolling boil. After about 30 seconds, if you haven’t taken it off the base, the blue light turns off, showing that it’s stopped heating. Attractive, fast, safe. What’s not to like?

I had a kettle that broke after ten years of using it every day. I had to replace it and bought this one. I like that it is transparent with a blue light when it is on. It looks nice in the kitchen too. I hope it lasts a long time too.
